This page explains what information the Rizzo's Wrigleyville gift page collects, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We keep it simple: we collect the minimum needed to run the gift program, and we do not sell your information. Ever.
What we collect
- Instagram handle, so we can limit the program to one gift per guest.
- Email address, also used for the one-per-guest rule, and for our email list if you opt in.
- Your answer to "How did you hear about Rizzo's?", which helps us understand how guests find us.
- Your email opt-in choice, so we only email people who asked for it.
- IP address and timestamps, used only to prevent abuse of the program (for example, blocking rapid repeat claims from one connection).
What we store on your phone
This page saves your gift ticket in your browser's local storage so a page refresh does not lose it. That data stays on your device. We do not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels, and we do not track you across other websites.
How we use your information
- To issue your gift ticket and enforce the one-gift-per-guest rule.
- To prevent fraud and abuse of the program.
- If you checked the opt-in box: to send you Rizzo's specials, events, and game day updates by email. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing is immediate and free.
- To understand, in aggregate, how guests hear about Rizzo's.
What we never do
- We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
- We do not send marketing email unless you opted in.
- We do not post to your Instagram or access your Instagram account. Tapping the follow button simply opens Instagram; what you do there is between you and Instagram.
Who we share it with
Your information is stored with the service providers that run this page: our website host (Netlify) and our database provider (Supabase). If you opt in to emails, your email address will also be stored with the email platform we use to send them. These providers process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes. We may also disclose information if required by law.
How long we keep it
We keep claim records for as long as the gift program runs, so the one-per-guest rule keeps working, and mailing list data until you unsubscribe. You can ask us to delete your information at any time (see Contact below), and we will honor the request unless the law requires us to keep it.
Security
Your information is encrypted in transit, stored in a database that is not publicly accessible, and reachable only through our own server functions. No system is perfectly secure, but we intentionally collect very little so there is very little to lose.
Your choices and rights
- Unsubscribe from emails at any time using the link in any email we send.
- Ask us what information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it.
- Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state privacy laws. We honor reasonable requests regardless of where you are from.
Age
This program is intended for adults of legal drinking age (21+). This page is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information here, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Meaningful changes will be flagged to the email list if you are on it.
